Edelman Financial Services, one of the nation’s largest and best known financial planning and investment management firms, is seeking a Manager of Financial Planning for our Fairfax office to oversee its growing roster of talented financial advisors.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned financial professional with the skills to lead a team of financial advisors. The Manager will train advisors new to our firm as well as mentoring and coaching tenured advisors, all of whom are experienced and successful. Duties include teaching new advisors the firm’s programs, processes and software systems, guiding advisors with case studies, and handling daily administrative issues, including collaboration between advisors and the firm’s operations, trading, IT and compliance personnel.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and appropriate licenses (7, 24 or equivalent, & 65), minimum 10 years experience as a financial advisor in an RIA or brokerage environment, a working knowledge of all areas of financial planning including  investments, insurance, college, retirement and estate planning, taxes, real estate and mortgages and more. Excellent skills in communication, problem solving, sales training mentoring and IT are a must, along with excellent judgment and ability to maintain a positive and collaborative environment while always focusing on the client’s best interests and being dedicated to firm, advisor and staff success.
