Human Resource Assistant (Fairfax)

Edelman Financial Services, one of the nation’s largest and most well known financial planning firms, is seeking an HR professional with 1 – 2 years of experience.

The HR Assistant will provide intensive HR administrative support for the HR team to include:  benefits, recruiting, filing, scanning, database management, morale events and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests/questions.
  • Assist recruiters in all recruiting activities such as reference, background checks and more
  • Assist with new hire orientation process to include scheduling and material prep
  • Organize and maintain personnel files
  • Scanning/filing of employee documents
  • Assists with company events
  • Assists with maintaining our department intranet site
  • Assist/lead various research projects and/or special projects
  • Update HRIS system with employee change requests
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field.
  • 1 – 2 years of experience in HR field and in a highly confidential environment
  • Prior knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources
  • Prior experience with HRIS database, preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
