Based on the information provided by clients, advisors at McMakin Financial do our best to ensure that we are in step with all of the clients’ needs from the very first interview. We start by taking a comprehensive inventory of our clients’ current financial situations.

We review our clients’ retirement, investment, real estate, personal and business assets. We then review their personal or business liabilities, monthly budget and cash flow requirements and current and future income expectations. We include a review of current and future income tax projections. We also review life, disability and long-term care policies as well as the clients’ wills and trusts.

After a comprehensive review, we design plans that will best suit our clients’ needs and desires. We create retirement account value projections, determine proper IRA selections, and develop strategies to help our clients improve retirement savings.

When it comes to investing, we determine our clients’ risk tolerance. We want them to be comfortable with our strategy for them. We analyze their current investment portfolio allocations and rates-of-return. We monitor their investment portfolios.

Charles W. “Wally” McMakin has been managing director of McMakin Financial since its inception over 27 years ago. Wally is a registered principal with SMH Capital and is Officer of Supervisory Jurisdiction (OSJ) for offices of McMakin Financial in Baton Rouge, Gonzales, and Crowley.
