Edelman Financial Services, one of the nation’s largest and most well known financial planning firms, is seeking a Project Specialist.
The Project Specialist will be responsible for serving in a variety of project-oriented roles including project manager, business analyst, project coordinator and/or software development tester. Work may encompass projects of all sizes and will involve a combination of project management, business analysis and software testing skill sets.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following skills: initiative, self-starter, ability to work under minimal supervision, ability to react to change productively and positively in a fast-paced and fluid environment, ability to prioritize and manage multiple project deadlines is essential, ability to work with technology/systems groups and business units, especially in developing requirements and testing of new systems, excellent planning, organization, and time management skills, excellent written and verbal communications skills, strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization (including executive management), effective at problem solving, issue identification and risk mitigation, ability to gain consensus through mediation, and finding creative and innovative solutions to issues and day-to-day challenges, must be comfortable independently evaluating a situation, exercising judgment, and making a decision.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree, 3 - 5 years project related experience, financial services industry preferred. Familiarity with Agile and iterative project and development concepts and processes, experience with MS SharePoint, Visio, Project, Office and Microsoft CRM preferred, advanced Excel skills preferred – financial, logical and data related formulas (Pivot tables, VLookup, data cleansing), demonstrated competency in developing effective solutions to complex business problems.
