Edelman Financial Services, one of the nation’s largest and most well known financial planning firms, is seeking an Accounts Payable Administrator to join the growing Accounting Department. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a desire to learn, and a willingness to adapt to an ever-changing environment.
This position will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payments to all vendors. This process involves coding and keying invoices into the accounting system, coordinating with our parent company to ensure timely payments, resolving questions and disputes with vendors, and communicating effectively with other employees.
Essential Functions:
This position will include several responsibilities, including, but not limited to the following:
- Reviewing, coding, and keying invoices into the accounting system
- Effectively communicating deadlines and special handling requirements of each check run to our parent company
- Responding quickly and accurately to vendor requests for information
- Reconciling credit card statements
- Making bank deposits
- Maintaining accurate and complete A/P files.
Qualifications:
This position will include several responsibilities, including, but not limited to the following:
- BA in Accounting preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of A/P experience
- Strong aptitude for financial systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Solomon expertise a plus, but not required
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Position requires high level of responsibility regarding confidential information; must maintain confidentiality at all times
