Edelman Financial Services, one of the nation’s largest and most well-known financial planning firms, is seeking a Director, Human Resources. The Director, Human Resources will be responsible directing all HR functions and setting strategic direction.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee/manage functions of the HR department to include: recruitment, benefits, payroll, compensation, organizational development and training, performance management, policy/procedure development and implementation, performance appraisal program, onboarding and terminations
• Process employee records: manage new hire process, process payroll changes, maintain personnel files
• Directs the staff of the HR department
• Works with the VP, HR to manage the development and implementation of HR Department goals and objectives
• Conducts and participates in wage and salary surveys
• Communicates, interprets and implements human resources policies and government laws and regulations
• Investigates and arbitrates personnel issues relating to employment conditions and violations of employment policies
• Performs all other duties as assigned

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business or related field. A Master’s Degree or SPHR certification strongly preferred.
• 8-10 years of experience with at least 5 years of direct managerial/supervisory experience
• A proven track record of effective human resources leadership and the ability to develop, design, implement and measure success of a variety of human resources programs.
• Experience developing and administering training programs
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure – flexible in faced paced environment
• Strong analytical skills and good reasoning abilities and sound judgment
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to guide and lead a team
• Must be a proven change agent
• Must be self-motivated and goal oriented
• Computer proficiency in MS Office
